for more then 48 million years ago... the sun sent out massive sun wind (sol vind) and icreased the earths magnetisme... then came a metorite and disolved the dinosour race... then 24 million years later it happened again. now 48mil-50% = 24 -> - 100% (50%+50%) = 2012 a.c... that sure as hell scared me the first time... allso years are rounded up so it make more sense.

Well, that's the chance for it to develop beyond the carbon molecule stage.
Now, space may be infinite, but I believe mass isn't.
There's a limited number of galaxies, say, 30 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 in a pattern looking similar to a galaxy. Beyond that is nothing.
If it's like that even then the chances are astronomical.
