I'm going to go to FL studio and melodyne to make my own theme song now.
Question: Theme song or background music for areas?
If it's background music, it's low in the background. It should be soothing, entertaining yet not boring and for everyone's taste. Not so that everyone likes it but so that some people don't hate it.
It's also easily loopable without it sounding annoying. - It should also be something that doesn't distract.

I think you should change the radio system a bit, Alex - you need categories (E.g. Half-Life music, Portal Music, other [royalty free] music) and queue - because when I tried operating a radio I could only play one song. You need to add the songs to a queue so the radio can play 15 songs or more without you being around to play a new song all the time. Also add a 'record' option so you can add your own voice and a render-to-radio function so you can stream (free) radio stations and podcasts over the radio.
- Any of the above possible? At least add non-source radio songs - like those on audioswap which are royalty free.

I could add as much songs as you want, but the download for the gamemode would take hours, streaming songs to other clients is close to impossible if you dont make your own Mod, i read a facepunch post about that exact theme, but it didn't look good. Ill try the fix the other stuff tho, just list it up under suggestions. (imma add the suggestions forum again).

I thought .mp3 files took around 5kb per minute in top quality - packed together in a .OGG audio package (which I THINK source can handle) it should only be like a single 1mb download for almost 100 quality songs. That's not a bad deal.

Here's the LUA code for making it broadcast in-game on YOUR speakers:
Code:
function MakepRadio() if pRadio then pRadio:SetVisible(true) return end
local window = vgui.Create( "DFrame" ) if ScrW() > 640 then -- Make it larger if we can. window:SetSize( ScrW()*0.9, ScrH()*0.9 ) else window:SetSize( 640, 480 ) end window:Center() window:SetTitle( "Source Tunes Radio" ) window:SetDeleteOnClose(false) window:SetDraggable(false) window:MakePopup() pRadio = window
-its similar to a hl2 theme...has a drum involved which is not used in hl2 themed songs alot...i like its not fast but its not a slow acoustic beat, its just right
