I won't be on steam for a few months, but I will be lurking and posting on the forums, so I'm not inactive. My vista has borked. Now I'm stuck with a choice of Windows 3.1, Windows XP, Linux Ubuntu, or Linux Kubuntu
You choose, I can't decide.

I do have access to windows 7 anyways. It's on my pen drive, but I don't like it's UI.

That's your fucking reason for not using Win 7? But in all honesty my favorite OS might actually be... the Mac. So few issues, so quick. T-T

I don't know much about the machine, but it seems to me that everything you can do on a mac, you can do on a PC?

OPINIONS ARE OK, but it seems most of you have no idea what you're talking about.

You can run Windows on a Mac, but not vice versa, so you can technically run EXEs on a Mac. Still I wouldn't recommend that.

Yeah, if thats the only thing you want from a computer, its ok.
What's with you hating Macs? It's slick, quick and not very thick. I'd recommend it for anything creative. 3D modeling, graphical design, video editing, audio editing and just general browsing. Only thing I won't recommend it for is coding, gaming and - that's 'bout it.

Well, that's also incorrect. From a software perspective there are many valuable assets unobtainable through Microsofts OSes, like a 3D tracking program I've started using on a daily basis. Also Final Cut pro, and Adobe programs are quicker on the Mac for some reason.
Why I've started loving this Mac is because it's über-quck - I open the screen and BAM, it's on. Startup: 2 seconds. Rest mode to on mode: 0,29 seconds. It also never crashes and rarely has errors. A godsend for people who spend hours on editing or making something. It has great battery power (9-ish hours open, about a month in resting mode), it doesn't make a sound and it never overheats. At the same time it's small and lightweight, great for transportation and looks smexy.
SAYS THE MAN WITH A HOME BUILT GAMING RIG who was a Windows fanboy until he actually got a Mac.

i like mac but i dont like the ui. I always sound like a fanboy when f.ex arguing about xbox360 or ps3 and pc and mac, but really i like them both but i just like pc better
Edit: Ok, on a final though linux is pretty good too because it is open source so you can basicly suit it to your preferences and the thing i like the best. It's the best os for hacking

I dont like mac's because they are too expensive compaired to what you get from other computers in terms of preformance. Allso, apple makes too manny restrictions on what you can or can't do on a mac. I just dont think its worth it. Acually one of my dear friends bought a mac recently, going to look closer at it and maby it will change my oppinion, for better or for worse.

It might be overpriced, but I get it for free. But there's an acceptable opinion. (other than the restrictions thing, what's that about?)
