| Don't really have an interest in the game. I'm guessing they won't be able to keep an MMO that massive going.

| APB servers shut down. - Quote :
- Cops vs crooks MMO APB is officially closing, as reported by our occasional drinking buddy, EDGE* and confirmed by APB’s official announcement. It’s garnished by a broad swathe of bittersweet quotes from the development team. Here’s the initial announcement:
“APB has been a fantastic journey, but unfortunately that journey has come to a premature end. Today we are sad to announce that despite everyone’s best efforts to keep the service running; APB is coming to a close. It’s been a pleasure working on APB and with all its players. Together we were building an absolutely amazing game, and for that, we thank you. You guys are awesome!
From all of the Realtime World staff we thank you for your continued support.
The servers are still up, so join the party and say goodbye!
- Ben ‘APBMonkey’ Bateman (Community Officer)” Well, that's the end of that. Glad as fuck I had no interest in it.

| That's fucking stupid... They are just suddenly ending developing on a great game with lots of cool features. It's the END. Not even a pause for them to gather more money (if that's what's needed). And wait a second... It was closed beta.

| Nah, the makers of APB disbanded and will never be heard of again. However, new update; - Quote :
- Following the announcement yesterday that Realtime Worlds had shutdown APB's servers, the BBC reports that among the companies to have expressed interest in purchasing the rights to the floundering title is Unreal and Gears of War creator Epic Games.
According to a "source close to the development team at APB," administrators at Realtime Worlds are looking to sell the APB intellectual property, and Epic Games is one company they've spoken with. However, while Epic spokesperson Dana Cowley expressed admiration for the project, she stopped short of confirming (or denying...) any discussions between Epic and Realtime Worlds.
"Mark [Epic Games CEO] absolutely loves APB, and everyone here loved what they saw," Cowley said. "We've got our hands full of Gears of War 3, Bullet Storm and the recently announced Project Sword," she continued. "If any talks like that are going on, then they would be confidential."
Again, not a confirmation, but not a denial, either. Since APB was built on Epic's Unreal Engine 3, it would be a good fit for the company to come in and take the game over. Whether it would make financial sense to try and revive an already-failed MMO is another matter, but then again, Epic's interest (if they are indeed interested) might also extend to developing a follow-up to the title of their own.
If any more details come up, we'll pass them along. So there's still hope.
